Julius Probst is the European labor economist at Appcast, part of The Stepstone Group. He previously worked for Macrobond Financial, a macroeconomic and financial data provider. He was a research intern at the European Central Bank. He has a Master’s in Economics and PhD in Economic History from Lund University.
The last four years have been extremely volatile. Global economic shocks have dominated the economic landscape. While labor markets have recovered extremely well, economic growth in the Eurozone will remain somewhat lackluster for now. I will discuss some of these global shocks and what’s in store for the coming one or two years. I will also explain how all these trends are affecting the regional labor market in Belgium.
Alex led operations at Hofy for the majority of their journey through to their acquisition by Deel this year. For Hofy he drove best in class operational delivery and customer service for hundreds of customers and 10’s of thousands of users, in over 120 countries. He’s now leading the commercial and team integration of Deel IT (Hofy) into the Deel Platform. His prior experience spanned operational leadership roles and Uber, OYO as well as work in the third sector and early stage start-ups.
In this session, we’ll share the journey behind the creation of Deel IT, which began with our acquisition of Hofy. We’ll delve into the challenges we faced as a globally distributed company, and how these experiences shaped the development of Deel IT. Mattias Vanderoost is 36Y old father of 2 with an educational background in bio-chemical
engineering supported with an additional MBA at Vlerick Business School. He started his career in
2011 at Procter & Gamble where he took up multiple roles ranging from supply chain, strategic
purchasing & marketing both on national and international level. In 2018, he joined Telenet to lead
the digital platform teams from which he quickly grows towards broader leadership roles with a
large focus on Telenet’s customer centric strategy and how the company can translate these into
their digital touchpoints & transformations
April 2023, Mattias took up the role of Vice President New Business and Ventures, where he leads
innovative initiatives and strategic venturing that need to drive growth and expansion in the ever-
evolving telecom landscape.. He is also a board member of Doccle and IMEC I-start as part of Telenet
corporate venturing activities.
This session demonstrates how HR, when positioned as a strategic partner, can break down silos, spark innovation, and drive business growth. Using the example of Blossom, we’ll show you how Telenet turned an HR-problem into a business opportunity. Blossom was developed in response to concerns about the complexity surrounding the transition to electric vehicles. Through close collaboration, we created an innovative “all-in-one” digital solution for the installation and management of charging stations and smart charging for electric cars.
